Meet Our Youth Ministers!

Therese Nguyen

SFOA's new youth minister, Therese Nguyen, is a former youth ministry participant and parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Born and raised in the Evergreen area, Therese left home for the East Coast and attended school at the Catholic University of America. After graduating in 2021, she has served as Music Director at St. John Vianney Parish and directed in various roles at the annual Diocesan Youth Retreats.

She is now answering God's call to a full-time career in ministry and is excited to begin working with the Young Church of Today, present within her beloved home parish. In her free time, she likes to compose praise and worship music, spend time with her better half (Ryan Bao), and try her hand at baking new recipes!

Kevin Bernaga

Kevin is SFoA's former youth minister and now supports Youth Ministry across the Diocese of San Jose in his new role as Associate Director of Youth Ministry. His extensive 7 years of ministry experience in our parish’s programs have given him a better vision for how to support the Young Church of Today on a diocesan scale.

Kevin is also the host of a podcast that is popular among our youth in the Diocese, called Modern Day Disciples! Along with his co-host, Ana Fuentes, they aim to share stories of those living out God’s love in order to empower our Young Church to do the same. In his free time, Kevin loves spending time with his soon-to-be wife, Jennyrose Jalique, travelling to Disneyland, and convincing everyone he knows to watch Ted Lasso on Apple TV.
